Royale Tracking Walls

“Jay “The Sport” Jackson dreams of being the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. But it’s 1905, and in the racially segregated world of boxing, his chances are as good as knocked out. When a crooked boxing promoter hatches a plan for “the fight of the century,” “The Sport” just might land a place in the ring with the reigning white heavyweight champion.”
-Concord Theatricals

The production required two walls, 12 feet wide by 32 feet tall, to track left and right. Each wall was framed from 1.5″ 16ga box steel and mounted to a single Triple E UniBeam track using heavy duty carriers. The track was mounted to 53 feet of 12×12 XSF truss, suspended from four 1/2-ton chain motors. Once in position, the truss was stayed to the galleries to keep it from swaying. To control the tracking, custom assemblies containing Fenner pulleys were bolted to each end of the truss. Steel wire traveler ropes were routed through the pulleys and each terminated to a Creative Conners Pushstick Mini placed on the floor stage left. The full automation system included two additional axes; a boxing ring wagon tracking US/DS and a small punching bag wagon tracking SL/SR.
